Mount Evans day

Current music: NPR's All Tech Considered

After doing lunch with Dan and Brienne today I took Koura and we drove up North America's highest paved road to the top of Mount Evans. It was beautiful up there, but rather cold.

The white line sometimes cracks off the road:

Enjoying the D90

A few weeks ago I purchased the new Nikon D90. I have been loving it so far. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to get out and play with it. Yesterday, I did a lot of work in the garden and yard. Afterwards I went out and took some photos when the light was a little less harsh and obscured by some afternoon clouds.

Teva Games of 2009

Yesterday I went to the Vail Mountain Teva Games with Jeff and Mel. The three of us entered the photo competition. Mel has a truly excellent shot. I got some good ones, but I am doubtful I will win anything. Here are the ones I have evaluated as candidates. The following ones are the ones I think I am going to submit. Let me know what you think.

Booth Falls and the Dogs

When Tasha was sleeping over Lexie and I took the dogs to Vail and hiked Booth Falls. There was still a bit of snow and a lot of mud. The dogs loved it.

Koura had a few sleepovers with Tasha

Tasha stayed at my house while Hulsey and Mel went off to Germany. She was bummed they didn't take her on the trip so she sat at the door and waited patiently for them to return:

The dogs did a lot of hiking that week. The first one they did was the Apex Trail in Golden, Colorado:

Cherry Creek is for the Dogs

Hulsey and Melanie were in Denver a few weeks ago. We took the dogs down to Cherry Creek to let them have a swim and tire them out a bit. Jeff took some great shots.

The past is the past

I have been really terrible at updating this lately. Maybe you should watch my twitter feed.

Anyway, for my birthday weekend I went to New York City to hang out with Hamish and Amanda, my old flatmates from New Zealand. They were in town from London. Good times were had by all.

I stayed at Shaun's grandma's house. Mario came for a visit. I think he thinks he is in the 70s:
