Mid-December hike on Mt. Falcon

In the middle of December, Koura and I picked a nice day to hike around on Mount Falcon. We did it the easy way and drove up the back then just walked around the top. Great views of downtown Denver, the Walker Mansion, and the Summer Home of the Presidents.

Game Creek Bowl Powder Day

Hit up Vail with Dan, Jeff, and Melanie on Thursday. Perfect Colorado bluebird day. It was looking like it was going to be a groomer day. Cold, little new snow, etc... Then Faro and Ouzo opened in Game Creek Bowl and it all changed. Turned into a great powder day, as evidenced by the video.

Thanksgiving Sunrise Timelapse

For Thanksgiving Lexey and I went to visit Grandma in Lady Lake, Florida. She is moving back north as of today, so this was likely our last visit to The Villages. This sunrise was taken from her patio looking at the small lake.

Lexey and I made a trip down to Florida to visit Grandma for Thanksgiving. On Friday we went out to Cocoa Beach for the day to get some time in the sand.

Hanging Lake

Lexey and I did a beautiful early winter hike in Glenwood Canyon. Lexey had been working up in Craig, CO and so we met up on Friday night in Vail to hang out with the Hulse's and get our hike on.

Fall hike to Frasier Meadow

Koura and I went for a short hike this afternoon to Frasier Meadow in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. I need to remember to go a little earlier next time to get the aspens. It is a beautiful place.

Riding Marshall Mesa with Koura

Decided to take my dog, Koura, with me mountain biking today. She had a blast and is now completely wiped out. It was a fairly easy 5 mile loop at Marshall Mesa outside of Boulder. Beautiful views!

Fall in Steamboat Springs

Lexey and I went to Steamboat Springs last weekend (that probably could have been determined through looking at the time lapse videos). The colors are spectacular this year. More browns than normal, probably due to the drought. We did an amazing hike on Saturday up to Upper Fish Creek Falls.

Driving from Steamboat Springs to Strawberry Park

The drive from Steamboat Springs to Strawberry Park is spectacular. Here is a time lapse of the 20 minute drive each way, through the changing aspens:

Weekend on the bike and in the kitchen.

This weekend I have spent almost the entire time on my bike and in the kitchen. The kitchen is really coming together. We are almost completely moved back into it and photos will come soon.

Both rides this weekend were out-and-backs. Yesterday I rode out the Platte River until my legs had plenty, then turned around and rode back:


Today I finally rode with Lowell. We have been trying to get together to ride all summer. It happened today at Lair o' the Bear. I had never ridden that trail before. I will be going back:

Lily Mountain

Last weekend Lexey and I went up to Estes Park for the day and climbed Lily Mountain for the sunset. What a great place.

Square Top Lakes with Jodie and Dan

A few weeks ago, I took Jodie and Dan for their first high altitude hike. We went up to Square Top Lakes from Guanella Pass. It is a good 4-5 mile hike which tops out at about 12,300 feet.

Vail's Grand Traverse

Yesterday Lexey and I went up to Vail to ride the most scenic trail on Vail Mountain, the Grand Traverse. Lexey took the gondola up while I rode up from Lionshead. From the top of the gondola we took Kloser's Climb up to the Grand Traverse and rode it back to Eagle's Nest then Big Mamba and Liondown back to the Vail Village for lunch.
