Ok, maybe I will start posting here again. I have been lazy lately...

Here are some pics from Denver's Holiday Blizzard. Weak name.

What a freakin' weekend, and it isn't even over yet.

All kicked off by partying it up with Ryan and Adam in the back of a limo downtown. Then Anne and I got called "burritos" and almost got bitten by a rattlesnake. Then the rains came in and washed away everything but a bird. Anne and I continued the partying with margaritas at Benny's and wine at P17, then a bit more wine at home. All of it culminated in pancake names this morning.

My parents have been here the past few days. They came to Denver on Thursday then headed up to Leadville to see Sean on Friday. I met up with them and stayed at Sean's house. Last night I came back to Denver and crashed out hard. My grandmother has been getting sicker quickly. This morning she passed away and my parents decided to cancel their drive and days in Las Vegas and fly home today. They are back in Denver now, but can't leave until tomorrow. I will be heading to Rochester soon too for the calling hours.

Furniture received

Yesterday the furniture came. Kris was here to accept it so I didn't have to come home from work to do it. What a freakin' pal...

Furniture finally found

I haven't had any furniture in my house since I moved in. Basically it was so bad that when some friends got here from out of town they said "I didn't realize that you didn't have ANY furniture".

So... today Laura, Kris, and I went to American Furniture Warehouse Megstore. That place has prices which are key as and furniture that is sweeter than.

I ended up getting a matching sofa, chair, and ottoman. They are really trendy and will probably, if not definitely, add to my neighbor's thoughts that Kris and I are gay lovers. Delivery date is Wednesday so people should come over then and abuse the new furniture.

I didn't have my camera at the store with me. Here is a picture of my new dining room table and chairs though. I will get pics of the new stuff when it arrives.

Last night was exceptional. Hit up Sputnik with Laura, Ryan, and Elena then went to Lipgloss to shake it with the hipsters. Didn't do much shaking, just mostly lurked with Laura and talked shit about people except for the girl in the red and white shirt. After a good lurking session we went home. Laura and I sat up all night drinking kava and chatting. Good times. I think the raddest and baddest thing about Laura is that she doesn't like most people and she is pretty forthcoming with that.

The Mustards are moving today and I was gonna help the Colonel, but he isn't calling me back and I don't know where they are at. Maybe I should get dressed then go find them. They must be at one of the houses eh?

So, no new pics for a while because I suck at it. The snow season ended and I had other priorities. Things are settling down a little even though I need furniture badly. I think tomorrow will be deemed "furniture finding fiasco".

It feels like the moving will never end. I am back in Vail packing up more crap. This week has been damn crazy... Partying every night and working every day wears on me.

Last night Hulsey, Ryan, Elena, Kris, and I did the Lipgloss thang and hit up Little Jerusalem's. We partied like rockstars. Between Elena's non-stop shot buying and the serious after-party in Jerusalem's people must have thought we were rockstars. No Kris... we arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre rockstars.

3 weeks in a row now we have done a weekend breakfast at Bump N Grind. That place just doesn't get old...

Moved in!

Moved into the house last night. Kris and I got everything in, but I dont have any furniture yet. I bought a blowup mattress at Target, but my vacuum doesnt run in reverse so I cant even fill it up. Ended up sleeping on the floor. I have a lot of things to do and to buy, but it is gonna be fun for sure. I will post some pictures soon.

Closed on house!

So... I closed on my house yesterday. My loan company didn't yet fund the loan however. Until they fund it, the house isn't actually mine. Ugh. Now I have to wait until Monday. It was pretty awesome though. I took the seller for a little bit of a ride.

It was in the contract that the seller would pay up to $10,000 for any closing costs. My mortgage broker made the closing costs EXACTLY $10,000.00. She was kinda angry and said that the broker had inflated the costs. Inna (my realtor) told her that if she wanted to accuse people she needs to talk to the party she is accusing directly.

Next she wanted me to purchase 2 AC units she left there as well as her split queen boxspring. The stairs at the front of the house are too narrow to take a normal boxspring up so that is why she has a split. She wanted $100 for them. I told her I would give her $60. She said no she wanted $100. I told her that I wouldn't go higher than $80 and she accepted that. Then she wanted me to give her another $20 for the dresser and armoire she was leaving in the upstairs bedroom. They would have to be disassembled to take them downstairs. I said no, if she wanted to leave them that she could, but I wouldn't pay her. She was like, "For $20??? They are nice pieces of furniture!" I told her that if I didn't want them that I would have to take them apart to bring them downstairs, so no, I won't pay for them. She said, "Fine... just keep them."

Well, ended up going to Ted's Montana Grill last night for dinner instead of Casa Bonita. We didn't feel like eating crap food. Afterwards we all, except Meghan, went to Streets of London and shot some stick. Kris and I cleaned house as usual...

New times = good times

Went up to Vail this weekend. I got to play a little disc golf with Hulsey in Eagle and then this morning I came back here to Denver. When I got back I hit up Bump 'n' Grind with Kris, Laura, and Kris. This place is amazing. I am going to take any visitors to Denver to this place for breakfast.

After brekkie Kris and I went to Aurora to play some disc golf at the Expo Park course. It was really windy and so tough to play, but it would have been an easy course otherwise.

Tomorrow Carmine's on Penn is closed because it is always closed on Mondays. Damn! That is where we were going to go for my birthday dinner. Instead we are switching it up and hitting Casa Bonita! Yeah yeah!

Kubiak is here!

Kubiak and Laura have made it! Kris came in on Wednesday night, but I was in bed by the time he arrived. Yesterday I met up with them for lunch for some really sweet Philly Cheese Steaks. Then, after work, Kris came out to Westminster to play a round of disc golf at the Westminster City Course After throwing down a sweet game we went back to the city and got dinner at Chipotle.

 

So sweet to have those characters out here!
